Preventing Ovarian Cysts

As many diseases and conditions can be prevented through such measures as diet and exercise, many women think there are steps they can take to prevent ovarian cysts from forming.

Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent ovarian cysts. The best thing you can do to catch ovarian cysts is to have annul pelvic exams. If, however, you have frequent ovarian cysts, your doctor will likely prescribe birth control pills or another form of contraceptive to prevent future cysts from forming.

Ok, so what happens if you go on birth control bills to regulate your period & to help prevent cysts, and that doesn't work? My 17 yoa daughter has been getting cysts since age 11. She started her period at age 14. She was lucky if she had it every 2 months. At about age 16 she started getting it every 2 weeks. All the while getting terrible pain that had us at the ER. We were being told she had a cyst that ruptured & made her sick. She went on birth control pills 7 months ago, things were fine for awhile, then they have gotten out of control again. She had another cyst that ruptured & was back in the ER again. I am at wits end on what to do for her.
